This is a critical role to apply culinary knowledge into our product design, drive positive culinary culture and support AFH business.
Responsibilities- Subject matter expert on the cuisines of APAC countries with an emphasis on China cuisine with an expertise on culturally-relevant authentic Foods & beverages for the region.
- Support upfront ideation sessions and provide culinary inspiration for new product innovation across categories in APAC.
- Lead and maintain product/recipe development and document culinary gold standard prototypes.
- Keeps abreast of current culinary trends with an eye to application for PepsiCo Foods & beverages and develops/presents these insights to cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams across R&D and other business units (marketing, insights, operations, engineering, etc.) and create effective working relationships as necessary to support business growth initiatives.
- Partnership with OpEx Lead to drive Positive Culinary Culture.
- Lead CCS program in APAC, develop CCS talent pool.
- Organize and manage the Pujiang Innovation Center (including Foods Kitchen and Beverage Food Service Lab).
- Establish External Chef network in APAC key countries to support business growth.
- Food scientist/Culinary (or related field) with experience working in an academic culinary setting.
- 10+ years of experience, minimum 5 years of working experience as a Corporate Chef
- Previous CPG experience in R & D environment required
- Certified Research Chef Preferred
- Must be hands on with a can-do attitude and able to work in a fast paced and fluid environment
- Outstanding teamwork, communication and leadership skills
- Proven track record in maintaining good working relationship with business partners (Marketing, Operations, etc.)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English & Chinese.
