The main responsibility of the R&D Manager is to lead the development of innovative food products and solutions tailored to the needs of AFH clients. This includes collaborating closely with clients to understand their specific requirements, driving innovation in food technology and processes, and managing multiple R&D projects from concept to commercialization. The role also involves working cross-functionally with the marketing, sales, and supply chain teams to identify market trends, uncover new opportunities, and drive the innovation pipeline for the Away-From-Home (AFH) . Additionally, the R&D Manager ensures regulatory compliance, leads a team of R&D professionals, and oversees the seamless integration of new products into the market, delivering high-quality, scalable, and commercially viable solutions.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with Sales, MKT, PD, Culinary and Supply Chain teams to identify trends and opportunities, meanwhile co-develop and drive Away From Home pipeline.
- Work closely with clients to understand their specific needs, preferences, and operational constraints, translating these into actionable product development plans.
- Lead internal R&D functions and partner with co-man to create new food products and solutions that align with the needs of clients, ensuring quality, consistency and scalability.
- Drive innovation in food technology, ingredients, and processes to deliver cutting-edge solutions that provide a competitive edge in the market.
- Mentor and lead a team of R&D professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor degree or above in food science, food engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 8-10 years working experience in Multinational Foods Company and R&D function experiences; product development is preferred
- At least 3 years in a team leadership and management role.
- Fluent writing and speaking skill in Mandarin and English
- Strong knowledge of food science, ingredients functionality and food processing technology.
- Proven track record of developing innovative food products and solutions that have successfully entered the market.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple R&D projects simultaneously, with a focus on delivering results on time and within budget
- Effective communication in both technical and business aspects, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and internal teams
