Overview

Manager, PepsiCo Sugar Procurement will have responsibility for financial reporting for North America sugar (L) which includes commodity hedging/coverage, pricing updates, sugar buy plan management, financial modeling and RFP analysis. This role with work with procurement finance, control, supply assurance, R&D, supply chain and sustainability to deliver on category goals.

The Manager will work with Director to develop end-to-end sourcing strategy, and work across US, Canada and Specialty sugar sub-categories. This role will support sugar category to deliver cost efficiencies while ensuring robust supply, managed commodity risk and quality supporting the procurement of (~$600MM annual spend) Sugar in North America for ~130 plants.

The Selected Candidate:

  • Reports solid line to Director, North America Sugar Procurement
  • Will have matrix management responsibilities, partnering and influencing across multiple levels and organizations, to drive the Sweetener Category Management agenda
Responsibilities
  • Design and execute the sourcing strategy for PBNA & PFNA Sugar supplied locations (including bottlers and non-Procurement managed bottlers) in US and Canada. KPIs include Productivity, Cash Flow, Risk Management, and Supply Assurance
  • Conduct industry analyses, lead supplier negotiations to achieve best-in-class economics, develop robust business continuity plans, drive supplier performance on a daily basis, and build a pipeline of productivity initiatives
  • Build cost models and manage the category’s financial reporting – 13 Periodic Business Updates, Annual Operating Plans, 5-Year Strategic Business Plans and ad hoc analyses as needed. Partner closely with the PBNA Procurement Finance, PBNA Supply Chain Finance teams & Procurement Control team to update sugar pricing
  • Share market intelligence, price forecasts, supply/demand dynamics, and insights on sourcing strategies across business units and sectors
  • Develop long-term, strategic sourcing recommendations supported by research and analysis of fundamental NA market factors, including industry and competitor analyses and acceleration of Sustainability goals
  • Partner closely with PEP R&D, Quality, Sustainability, and Commercialization teams to qualify new materials and/or new suppliers to support Productivity, Innovation, and Business Continuity
  • Incorporate current business practices and identify areas of opportunity with a focus on total cost reduction and supply optimization

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $106,400 - $178,100
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually

Qualifications
  • Minimum undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Management, Food Science, Supply Chain, Agriculture, or related quantitative/analytical areas of study. MBA or Masters preferred
  • 5 years of procurement experience and/or related negotiation & financial management rolesStrong quantitative skills, data-driven decisions (strength in Excel), and analytical thought leadership that drives strategy development and execution. Ability to translate complex business problems into clear, concise solutions (strength in PowerPoint)
  • Direct management and expertise in food and beverage ingredients markets (traded and non-traded) e.g., World Sugar #11, US Sugar #16, sweeteners, niche ingredients
  • Ability to interpret and succinctly communicate market dynamics for senior management and non-expert audiences
  • Intellectually curious with a broad understanding of and interest in global macroeconomic, cultural and political trends
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity creates flexible strategies and adapts quickly to changing business environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to collaborate and influence – thrive in a matrix organization working across categories and functions to build trusting relationships internally and externally, gain stakeholder alignment, and deliver financial plans
  • Effective communicator, strong oral/presentation skills and written communication
  • Ability to travel as needed (<10%)
