Location: Dallas, Texas (Plano, Texas) (Hybrid work/home)

Responsibilities
  • Proactively serve as the go-to attorney to various client groups seeking to engage in commercial transactions, primarily supply chain and procurement clients.
  • Lead contract review, drafting, and negotiation for specific client teams or topics, primarily in the areas of manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, warehouse, fleet, and transportation.
  • Provide guidance and counsel on a wide variety of transactions and issues.
  • Collaborate closely with functional teams to advance business objectives and offer strategic legal advice to support informed decision-making processes.
  • Lead and mentor a paralegal on contract review, drafting, and negotiation.
  • Assist with developing and delivering legal education to business colleagues (e.g., contract negotiation/drafting, dispute resolution, vendor compliance, etc.).
  • Identify legal issues and raise them as appropriate, and provide regular updates to client leaders and Law Department leaders in areas of responsibility.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $125,900 - $249,900.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting the actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 25% of annual salary paid out annually, and an additional target payout of 10% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period.
  • Long-term incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance.
  • Paid time off is subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sickness, and bereavement.

Qualifications
  • This position is limited to persons with an indefinite right to work in the United States.
  • JD degree from an accredited US law school with excellent academic credentials.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a college or university.
  • 5+ years of relevant legal experience, including time in private practice with a law firm focusing on commercial transactions and/or in-house counsel experience.
  • A comprehensive understanding of contract law and superior, effective, and efficient drafting and negotiation skills; knowledge of the Uniform Commercial Code is essential.
  • Superior analytical ability, attention to detail, and dispute-resolution skills.
  • Strong business orientation and excellent judgment in balancing risk-taking with specific business guidance combined with unquestioned integrity.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills—ability to motivate and positively influence others; team and transaction management skills across legal disciplines.
  • Proactive and dynamic with the demonstrated process and continuous improvement orientation, particularly on legal process and forms harmonization.
  • Prior experience working with those in the manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, warehouse, fleet, or transportation industry (or a strong interest in one of these areas) is a plus!
